From Movies to TV

As much as I love Christian on the big screen, having him on TV gives me a reason to watch a show and I do not watch TV, so you can thank him for blessing your network with his presence.

With Mr. Robot ending last year, I am glad that he’s working on some new projects. According to IMDB, Christian is currently working on three new shows: Dr. Death, We Can Be Heroes and Dirty John.

Interesting. Let’s find out what these shows are about.

Dr. Death (2020)

I was searching for the release date and it does not look like the show has been released yet.

“As patients entering the operating room of Dr. Christopher Duntsch for routine spinal surgeries start leaving permanently maimed or dead, two fellow surgeons and a young Assistant District Attorney set out to stop him.”

This is a limited TV drama series which means it is going to be a short run and there hasn’t been a lot of coverage on this project. What I know so far is, Dr. Death is going to be part of the Peacock network (NBC) and will air this year, directed by Stephen Frears.

Alec Baldwin, Jamie Dornan, and Christian Slater have been cast for this production with Grace Grummers and Molly Griggs joining the crew in March 2020. The only other person that I am familiar with in this whole cast is Alec Baldwin. This shows you how much I follow films.

I have heard of this Dr. Death because it made headlines and was convicted February 2017 to life imprisonment for maiming four patients and killing two others.

We Can Be Heroes (2020)

This is an action, drama, and fantasy directed by Robert Rodriguez and in post-production with no current release date for Netflix.

“When alien invaders kidnap Earth’s superheroes, their kids are whisked away to a government safe house. But whip-smart tween Missy Moreno will stop at nothing to rescue her superhero dad, Marcus Moreno. Missy teams up with the rest of the super kids to escape their mysterious government babysitter, Ms. Granada. If they’re going to save their parents, they’ll have to work together by using their individual powers – from elasticity to time control to predicting the future – and form an out-of-this-world team.”

Looks like Christian will be venturing into kiddie superhero movie productions, which will be something worth checking out. I’ll have to play catch up with this on a later date since there is no real clear information on this film.

Dirty John (Season 2) (2018)

I guess I am late to the party. From what I gather, this is an anthology series. Imagine American Horror Story without the horror. This show was originally aired on Bravo but moved to the USA network. I actually like shows that were broadcasted on this network, hence Mr. Robot and let’s not forget the ever so clever Burn Notice.

Christian Slater and Amanda Peet will be the leading role in Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story.

Now intrigued, as a crime and horror fanatic such as myself, I will have to look up this Betty Broderick since this season will be based on her and it is based on a true story. I’ll have to catch up to the actual fact and the first season so stay tuned for more of my takes on this.

Now you can stay updated by signing up for the newsletter so you can be the first to know when I post a new article.

I am excited and cannot wait to see the latest projects. Thanks for stopping by and reading!
